March 7, 2025

Thanks for your positivity!

Maybe it is because spring is in the air or March Break is around the corner… Whatever the reason, thanks to the many colleagues who went out of their way to share positive feedback or an uplifting moment this week. A little gesture that goes a long way! (MARJ)

Summer schedules (Business and Operations staff)

Summer holidays (Teaching staff)

Summer camps begin

March 24 - Late Start and PD for all staff

The first day of classes after March Break is a late start, with PD for all staff.

Coffee and breakfast will be served!

Teaching Staff:

This is a working session for Department Collaborative Inquiry

Business and Operations Staff
We will go through four different free, powerful yet simple digital tools (Calendly, Google Doc Building Blocks, Gmail filters and Gmail inbox customization) in a hands-on session that will:

✅ Save you time ⏳

✅ Help you collaborate more smoothly 🤝

✅ Cut through the clutter and keep your inbox under control 📩

✅ Give you immediate wins that make your day-to-day easier 💡

Whether you're looking to boost efficiency, stay organized or just reclaim a little civility in your workflows, we have you covered.

This will be laptop-optional (but it will be helpful to have yours).

Student Life Moving Offices to 318

Following March Break, as a trial, the Student Life Office will be found in Room 318.

Staff will no longer be able to book this room for meetings.

Tony Lundy ’79 & Janet Looker Climate & Environment Solution Fund Grant Applications

This fund, established by UTS Board Director, Tony Lundy ’79, and his wife, Janet Looker, provides funding for expenditures for work undertaken by UTS students to develop climate change and environmental solutions. The Fund will be used to defray costs for students developing climate and environmental solutions.

These grant opportunities for students can support curricular or co-curricular projects and initiatives. Spring applications are due on April 3. The application form can be found here

Nearly $3,000 was awarded to seven students/groups in the fall grant period so there is just over $2,000 available this spring. If you have any questions, please contact Carole Zamroutian.

P2P at UTS

Peer-to-Peer is a student run, staff supervised group at UTS that invites anonymous questions from students, which are reviewed and responded to by P2P. Questions asked range from academics, to relationships, to mental health and beyond. The curiosities are endless, a recent question submitted asked whether teachers are aware of what students are wondering.

So, if you’re curious, feel free to check out the P2P page here!
