Staff Measles Immunization Reporting

Ontario Ministry of Health has reported over 1,400 measles cases in the province as of May 8, 2025, with more than 90 per cent involving unvaccinated individuals.

In the event of a measles exposure at UTS, Toronto Public Health will require immediate proof of immunization from all staff and volunteers. Those unable to provide documentation may be excluded from school for up to 21 days or until proof is submitted.

A staff shortage could result in UTS shifting to online classes.

To help keep our community safe, please verify your vaccination status and upload your immunization record to Toronto Public Health through ICON as soon as possible.

By proactively collecting and submitting your measles immunization records to Toronto Public Health through ICON, you are protecting your colleagues and students in the event of a measles outbreak, and ensuring smooth continued operation of UTS.

Keeping your measles immunization up to date also supports our Occupational Health and Safety Policy at UTS.

If you are unsure of your immunization status or unable to locate your immunization record, click here

U.S. Travel for 2025-26

Conversations are underway internally and externally with other schools regarding travel plans to the U.S. for next year.

Staff Surveys

On Monday morning (June 2), staff will receive an email inviting them to complete the UTS Staff Surveys. Everyone will be asked to complete two surveys:

1) Either the Teacher Survey or the Business and Operations Staff Survey (according to your role), and

2) The Demographics survey.

The surveys will close at the end of the day on Monday, June 16 so there is sufficient time to review the data prior to June PD. Your responses on these surveys will help us to have a better awareness of the workplace context at UTS. All responses are being collected anonymously, through Eureka! using a non-UTS survey tool.

Final Fire Drill for the 2024-25 School Year

A friendly reminder that the final fire drill is planned for the week of June 2.

The fire marshal will be looking to see how we navigate a barrier to exit (e.g. a blocked door, exit or stairwell). Please remember to keep students organized by class and gathered on the grass, away from the pavers. Thank you for using the red “students unaccounted for” and green “all here” attendance signs in your red fire attendance folders. Thank you also for sending a student from your class with the attendance list to the Main Office Staff on the hill quickly. Your cooperation and attention to these details are greatly appreciated. Here are the evacuation procedures for review as needed.
