The 2025-2026 Calendar
Here is the 2025-2026 calendar incorporating suggestions from staff consultations to date. Suggestions are welcome, please connect with Jenny. Late starts will be shared with families in late June. The Day 1 and Day 2 calendars will be entered into power school in July.
Final Fire Drill Debrief
Our 6th and final fire drill of the 2024–2025 school year was completed in 4 minutes and 25 seconds—an excellent time, especially considering that Stairwell C was blocked.
A friendly reminder: students should only be escorted through the U of T doors beside Stairwell A in the event of an actual emergency.
Thank you to all UTS staff for your calm and efficient coordination. Your efforts—guiding students to the grassy area, keeping them off the pavers, promptly sending attendance lists to the main office staff on the hill, and clearly displaying green ("all here") or red ("student missing") sign, were key to the success of the drill.
Well done, and thank you for helping everything run smoothly!
Staff Measles Immunization Reporting
Ontario Ministry of Health has reported over 1,400 measles cases in the province as of May 8, 2025, with more than 90% involving unvaccinated individuals. Read the letter from the Chief Medical Officer of Health here.
In the event of a measles exposure at UTS, Toronto Public Health (TPH) will require immediate proof of immunization from all staff and volunteers. Those unable to provide documentation may be excluded from school for up to 21 days or until proof is submitted.
A staff shortage could result in UTS shifting to online classes.
To help keep our community safe, please verify your vaccination status and upload your immunization record to TPH through ICON as soon as possible.

By proactively collecting and submitting your measles immunization records to TPH through ICON, you are protecting your colleagues and students in the event of a measles outbreak, and ensuring smooth continued operation of UTS.
Keeping your measles immunization up to date also supports our Occupational Health and Safety Policy at UTS.

While the end of the year is fast approaching, the Student Life Office is already looking ahead to autumn. An additional camp has been added for F2’s, please resubmit if this changes your rankings.

Graduation Luncheon
June 19

Join the Class of 2025 and celebrate their graduation on Thursday, June 19 with a luncheon provided by the University of Toronto Schools Alumni Association. The luncheon will be held at Hart House beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Year End Closing - June 30, 2025
With the end of the school year approaching, Finance asks staff to please review the following deadlines:
Expense claims/Reimbursement
Please note the cut-off date for expense claims from prior months is Monday, June 16, 2025.
Please ensure as many expense claims that relate to the 2024-2025 school year have been submitted to accounts.payable@utschools.ca by Monda, June 23, 2025.
Supplier Invoices
Please reach out to suppliers to get a copy and inquire if there are any outstanding invoices.
All invoices for payment to suppliers that relate to the current year should be approved, coded and emailed to accounts.payable@utschools.ca at the earliest opportunity and no later than July 4, 2025.
Order Cut-Off
Please ensure that any orders that you want to be included in the 2024-2025 school year are ordered as soon as possible. The last date Finance will process non-Amazon orders for the 2024-2025 school year will be Friday, June 20, 2025.
Accruals
Where goods or services have been received by June 30, 2025 but no invoice has been received from the vendor, please provide documentation to accounts.payable@utschools.ca, including cost, department code and approvals, no later than Friday, July 4, 2025.
Cash/Cheques
All cash and cheque deposits should be delivered to Finance in room 350 by Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Tens of staff and their MVPs (Most Valuable Plus-ones) braved the blustery breeze for a pre-game lineup of food, drink, and off-the-bench jokes before watching the Blue Jays make us proud on May 30. The weather was wild, but so were the cheers. Way to knock it out of the park, Staff Social Committee!
